Students

As a Medical Student, you may have specific research requirements as part of your core medical school curriculum.

For OU-COM students, the one research requirement that must be fulfilled before graduation is OCOM 785 - Directed Studies in Osteopathic Medicine.  As a product of this course, you will be required to write a case-based paper during your fourth year.  Because this requirement is a graded curricular item, you may not consult with the CORE Research Office as you complete this task.

For medical students from affiliated colleges of osteopathic medicine, you will need to consult with your colleges to determine any research requirements that must be fulfilled.

As you progress through medical school, you may wish to view the resident research requirements that you may face in the various osteopathic medical specialties.  To that end, the Specialty Colleges page offers several links to take you to the Basic Standards in Residency Training documents for many osteopathic specialty colleges; as well, the links for the specialty colleges themselves have been provided.
