CORE Research Office (CRO) Mission

The mission of the CORE Research effort is to grow a culture of research within the CORE system that

  • Advances the practice of medicine through the promotion of scholarly activities and clinical research;
  • Empowers CORE faculty to mentor osteopathic pre- and post-doctoral trainees;
  • Enables residents to meet and/or exceed AOA research requisites;
  • Creates and fosters an environment conducive to the pursuit of quality research; and,
  • Promotes the discovery and dissemination of new knowledge.

Central to this mission are research education, training, and support for all members of the CORE community.

To realize this mission, the CORE Research Office has created and maintains the infrastructure necessary for CORE members to successfully engage in the research process. Support services offered by the CORE Research Office address design, methodological, statistical, and editorial needs of researchers and facilitate the institutional review process of human subject research.

Educational services offered by the CORE Research Office include didactic sessions on the following topics: the research process, institutional review (IRB), research dissemination (such as posters and oral presentations), case reports, journal reviews, literature searches, research design, basic statistics, and basic psychometrics (such as survey design). Through the creation of this CORE research website, a vast amount of information is provided to interested users.
