ORAC Mission Statement

To improve the quality of Osteopathic Graduate Medical Education (GME), service, research and professional identity at the local, state and national level.

 

ORAC GOALS

  1. Serve as advocates for all osteopathic interns, residents, and fellows.
  2. Encourage high standards and continual improvement of educational programs for osteopathic interns, residents, and fellows.
  3. Facilitate communication among osteopathic interns, residents, and fellows.
  4. Promote the mission of the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) and the Ohio Osteopathic Association (OOA) and to enhance the value of AOA and OOA membership.
  5. Promote the mission of the CORE Academic Steering Committee (CASC).
  6. Protect and promote the rights of all osteopathic interns, residents, and fellows.
  7. Promote the quality in the continuum of osteopathic medical education and research.
  8. Serve as mentors for osteopathic students and student organizations and encourage early involvement in ORAC issues.
  9. Encourage and facilitate involvement of postgraduate physicians in local, state, and national medical organizations.
  10. Work to preserve the distinctiveness of osteopathic principles and the diversity of osteopathic medicine.
  11. Bring together the community of osteopathic interns, residents, and fellows and instill in them a sense of unity and loyalty to the osteopathic profession.
  12. Promote the growth and expansion of osteopathic internships, residencies, and fellowships with the goal of having postdoctoral training positions for all osteopathic graduates.
