Additional Points of Interest about this CORE Site Hospital
At Southern Ohio Medical Center, we have the priceless advantage of enthusiastic preceptors that are highly motivated to teach. Significantly, most of your experience will be of the hands-on variety. There is usually a one-on-one relationship with the preceptor—a situation that is ideal for maximizing your educational goals.

Medical student benefit packages include Family Use of the LIFE Center (a comprehensive fitness facility), free meals while on duty, 24 hour access to our new medical library and wireless internet access throughout the main campus.

Information of Local Interest
We have much to offer here at SOMC. For a rural region with low crime, easy traffic, clean air, nice people, and a small town atmosphere, we offer patient volumes and state of the art technology that are the envy of many programs in urban areas.

Southern Ohio Medical Center is in the midst of a massive expansion of our hospital and services.  Over the next few years, we will invest $100 million in construction and renovation.  Please know that this extends beyond just block and mortar; we are also committed to building and sustaining a world-class medical education program.
